PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP

U.S. Federal Law requires all participants receiving formal firearm training to be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident. You will be required to show a valid driver's licence upon check-in for your course. 

RELEASE & WAIVER

Every new student to Southern Firearms Training is required to complete our Registration Form and Release Waiver in order to participate in any form of training or range activity. The Registration Form must be completed prior to arrival and turned in at check in. The form can be downloaded HERE. A valid driver’s license will be needed to complete the check-in process upon arrival. The Release Waiver will be provided upon check in and must be signed at start of class.

AGE RESTRICTIONS

All handgun course participants must 21+.  Minors will be allowed to participate in the practical portions of the In-Home Course only. No handling of firearms by person under the age of 21 is allowed during our training courses.

 CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY

To receive a refund, notice of cancellation must be received no later than 72 hours prior to class start time. Only course fee is refundable. Registration Deposit is non-refundable.

If there is an emergency and you are unable to attend the training course, notice of cancellation is required. If notice is given and you would like to reschedule the class, you must contact the instructor for date availability.

If a shooter is removed from the range due to a violation of Southern Firearms Training Range Safety Rules (below), they are not entitled to a refund of any training courses.

RANGE SAFETY RULES

1. All Federal, state, and local firearm laws will be adhered to at all times.


2. All firearms not in the shooting area must be holstered or cased.


3. All shooters must read and sign the release waiver and assumption of risk agreement before using any range or training facility.


4. Concealed carry owners must be in possession of any permits or paperwork required by law.


5. There is to be no usage of listening devices while on the firing line or during class instruction. (music, cell phones, etc.)


6. All pistol calibers may be used on any range, with prior approval from instructor.


7. Commands issued by a Range Safety Officer must be obeyed immediately and without question.


8. If the command CEASE FIRE is given: stop shooting immediately, remove your finger from the trigger, remove magazine, clear firearm, place the firearm back in holster. Step back from the shooting area and wait for further instruction from the Range Safety Officer.


9. If the line needs to be declared  CLEAR,  all firearms must be holstered or safely grounded (action open and magazine removed), and all shooters must step away from the firing line. *Absolutely no firearm handling, unloaded or otherwise, will occur while the line is  CLEAR.*


10. Only the Range Safety Officer or authorized range personnel may go forward of the firing line unless instructed by the Range Safety Officer.


11. Only range approved paper targets may be used.


12. Firing a shot on the range that results in the bullet striking anything other than the target and/or backstop will result in damage or repair fines and/or your removal from the range.


13. Rapid fire is permitted, but only at a pace you can control, no more than 2-second bursts. If the Range Safety Officer can determine your rounds are hitting anything other than the backstop, you will not be permitted to fire in rapid succession.


14. Cross firing is prohibited.


15. All firing on any range must be aimed fire. Point shooting will not be allowed.


16. Shooters may only shoot one firearm at a time.


17. Any and all draws from the holster may only be practiced after approval by a Range Safety Officer. Drawing a pistol is only allowed within the shooting area.


18. Only holsters placed on or around the belt, accessible from the strong side will be allowed for use on any range. Shoulder, cross draw, or support access holsters are strictly prohibited.


19. Always wash your hands and face immediately after shooting and/or cleaning your firearm.
Southern Firearms Training and the Range Safety Officer reserve the right to inspect any firearms or ammunition for safety considerations.


Failure to obey these rules may result in a shooter’s removal from the range. If a shooter is removed from the range due to a violation of SFT's Range Safety Rules, they are not entitled to a refund of any training courses.
